TUITIONS ASSISTANCE FOR 2017-2018

Thanks for your inquiry into the Tuition assistance program at Prince of Peace Catholic Schools. .  The funds for tuition assistance come from Prince of Peace Catholic Schools, Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Friends of Shawe and Pope John, the Yunker Foundation, Private donations, Alumni and many supporters of our schools.   We ask each family that is applying for tuition assistance to go through the F.A.C.T.S information form on line and write a letter to the pastor of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.   F.A.CT.S is a third party evaluation service which Prince of Peace Catholic School (POP) uses to assist in determining the distribution of our tuition assistance.

The POP assistance program works hand in hand with the Indiana Choice Voucher program.  The POP assistance application you will complete will also provide POP the necessary information to apply on your behalf for the Indiana Choice Voucher program should you qualify.  You should contact the school to see if you are eligible for the Indiana Choice Voucher program or a member of our staff will call you based on your F.A.C.T.S application.

If it is your intent to apply for tuition assistance for the school year, please visit the F.A.C.T.S website or contact the schools business office to complete the application form.  You should complete the form on line, but send the Letter to the Pastor as well as the schools tuition assistance application to the business manager on or before April 10th, 2015.  Completion of the form will serve a dual purpose in which your family situation will be evaluated to identify if you are eligible for the Indiana voucher program, as well as submit your family situation for Prince of Peace Catholic Schools assistance.  YOUR APPLICATION MUST BE POSTMARKED BY April 11th, 2017 to be considered for the first distribution of Prince of Peace Catholic Schools assistance.  The F.A.C.T.S fee is charged by the company for processing the application on line.  A COPY OF YOUR MOST RECENT Federal Income Tax Return must accompany your application.

In order to complete the application, an amount must be inserted for tuition for each student. Please contact the school for the exact amount of tuition for your child since it is based on grade level and changes each year.

If unusual circumstances exist that are not covered by the application form, please identify those in your letter to the Pastor on Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Along with your description, include specific dates and figures indicating the financial impact these circumstances have had on your family.  Please also include your family reasons for choosing Prince of Peace Catholic Schools.

Prince of Peace Catholic Schools grants tuition assistance based upon the availability of budgeted funds, and the level of need of the families requesting aid.  The tuition assistance funds are distributed based on some criteria and any participating Catholic Family does receive priority since the majority of tuitions assistance funds come for Catholic Students to attend the Catholic Schools.    Families of different religious backgrounds are still eligible for assistance thanks to many generous donations from supporters and local businesses in our community.   These criteria are NOT applicable to the Indiana voucher program and eligibility criteria for this program, along with general voucher program information, can be found on Prince of Peace Catholic Schools website.  Any family eligible for the Indiana voucher program is required to apply for a voucher.  All Prince of Peace Catholic Schools assistance is reduced by any Indiana voucher amount received by a family.

All families that apply for financial assistance will receive a letter notifying them of the results.  Notifications will be made by June, as information becomes available.  If you have any questions, please contact the Prince of Peace Catholic Schools Business considered for the first distribution of Prince of Peace Catholic Schools assistance.  The F.A.C.T.S fee is charged by the company for processing the application on line.  A COPY OF YOUR MOST RECENT Federal Income Tax Return must accompany your application.
