Office of Development
The Office of Development develops understanding and support among the various constituencies of the Prince of Peace Catholic Schools; Pope John XXIII Elementary, Shawe Memorial Jr./Sr. High School and the Prince of Peace Parish, in order to secure the resources required for our school’s educational and spiritual mission. To provide integrated marketing communications to support the Prince of Peace Catholic Schools strategic and academic goals. The Office of Advancement strives to achieve these goals through a rigorous fund development, alumni and parent relations program as well as implementation of a school-parish wide marketing communications program focusing on consistent messages, publications, web and online communication.

Continuing the Prince of Peace Catholic Schools tradition of academic excellence requires the ability to recruit and retain the most qualified students—regardless of their financial circumstance. With more than $300,000 needed to meet the yearly financial demand, it is imperative that we support the Prince of Peace Catholic Schools Annual Fund and the significant role it plays in the lives of our students.
The Prince of Peace Catholic Schools Annual Fund bridges the gap between tuition and the actual cost of a Catholic education. Contributions to the fund support financial aid, competitive faculty salaries, excellence in academics, athletics, arts and student life.
Annual gifts made through The Annual Fund have a powerful impact on the experience of every student at Pope John XXIII and Shawe Memorial.
Margin of Excellence
Between the tuition the POP Catholic Schools receive and the actual cost of educating each student, there is a margin of 18%.
In 2016-2017, that means the Prince of Peace Catholic Schools must raise an additional $2,000 per student to fund the remaining 18%. It is through the generosity of donors that we are able to meet this need.
With your support, the Prince of Peace Catholic Schools can continue to recruit and retain the best teachers, provide excellence in academics and outstanding student programs, and sustain the POP Catholic Schools campus as an innovative and inspiring place to learn.

The Scrip fundraising program has earned the Prince of Peace Catholic Schools over $60,000 since it was started 7 years ago. Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift certificates that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including JCPenney, The Gap, Shell, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster and many, many others.
You’re probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money. It’s simple — scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as revenue. And scrip is exciting, because everybody wins:
- The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business…
- You get a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling…
- Our school gets a regular source of revenue.
The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for our school without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program! And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out.
